Zouk Harassment

zouk-abuse.jpg

Another case of violence happening on our Malaysian shores. First, it was a hellish night in Pudu Jail, and now, a trashing scene in a KL nightclub, Zouk.

The victims related their ordeals in a blog here. Their story was one, Zouk's statement was another.

There are many arguments going on, and we all have our say. Now, what is yours?

I feel sorry for the couple for being bashed up.

And as for those bouncers, I think they shouldn't bash up the two fellows even if they were really making out.

I don't know. This is really complicating

Harassment? If true, it is not just mere harassment, but an assault

Yeah, I do so agree, She's Jess. No matter what, hitting them was wrong.

elb: As of now, we're still unclear about whether to outright label it an assault. *shrug*

If you are unsure, I would recommend putting a question mark at the end; i.e. Zouk harassment? Same goes for future captions to prevent potential misunderstandings.

Funny thing is, people making out..they bash ppl up but ppl picking fights..they just stand and watch.

Hi people hope this answers your question.

Thank you for blogging this by the way, and spreading the word.

We were not making out. We have no need to do so in a public toilet. After sharing homes for the past four years plus, together for almost five. He is the love of my life and our grannies know we live together.

Malaysian toilets do not conjure images of grand romance. They stink to highwater and you basically go in, do what you gotta do and leave.

Who in the world would want to stay and romance in such filth?

Club toilets more so, are disgusting. Vomit, urine, faeces.... I certainly would not even remotely consider heading off to one for this kind of thing. Why would anyone want to do anything there?

And yes even if we were making out, how can you bash people up?

What I don't get is this. I've seen people make out in the open in Zouk. You see it in the corners, on the dance floor, everywhere. If it's a sin to make out in private in a cubicle, what's with making out in the open? I don't get the hypocrisy.

Zouk is too much. I tried to contact them for more than a week after we got bashed up and they refused to contact me back. How can they have their bouncers bash people up, and not bother to return the individual's calls?

What's more they released statements to the press claiming we were doing all this nonsense. And that my fiancee attacked them apparently. Who would be so stupid to attack four large bouncers?

We were targetted and they tried to take his Omega and potentially my handbag. They came at us from the back..... we had no chance to provoke them.

Only monsters come at you from the back and attack. That is low. What's more to hit a sick man and a woman. Outrage is an understatement.

The sad thing is I don't know how many people went through this. From the mail I've been getting I can see that it does happen, sadly.

You basically get attacked and then you face a management that doesn't care because it's so arrogant it makes a tonne of money, the police really didn't do much till I made an issue about it in the press, and lawyers are not cheap for the average person. Dead end.

We are pushing this as far as we can, firstly because we are upset it happened to us, but more so, it should not happen to anyone. It's high time someone highlighted this and made sure they are put in their place. We are in a position to do so, therefore as a matter of principle, we will. Justice has to be done so this monstrosity does not reccur. I do not wish this experience on my worst enemy.

The pain from the physical harm is nothing compared to the emotional and psychological trauma. Thankfully our network of family and friends is great. My pals refuse to let me stay at home and feel sorry for myself. We go out and talk and laugh but behind that facade, I still feel awful about this mess. Time heals.

Thank you for your interest in this. I hope that by my telling our story, Malaysians are better aware of the potential dangers that lurk. Hopefully pressure and awareness is created to push for better legislation regarding security personnel. You hear all these stories of bouncers, security guards assaulting, raping and murdering people. These are the same people who are trusted with our safety!

Please don't forget to sign the petitions on the site.

Cheers.
