Online Book Rental

books.gif

No money for new books or too lazy for libraries? There's an alternative for you, at the comfort of your very own home. Readers Shack is a new online book rental service that began its business in October last year by Lily Liang and Lau Sie Sing. Their purpose is not so much for profit, but to encourage reading habits among Malaysians.

Their collection listed at www.readersshack.com consists of a variety of genres, including romance, fiction, non-fiction, auto-biographies, children books and self-improvement books.

Orders are placed through e-mail and readers have an option to pick up the books at several locations including

i) Taipan, USJ
ii) Subang Parade, Subang Jaya
iii) Sunway Pyramid, Sunway
iv) SS2, Petaling Jaya
v) One Utama, Damansara
vi) Street Mall, Cyberjaya
vii) All Putra LRT stops

Orders from outside the Klang Valley are delivered by snailmail. Their service is only available to people in Malaysia.

Hopefully, with this new online book rental service, we will begin to see more people with books in hand at coffeeshops.

Comments

There's another book rental place in Amcorp Mall. On the same floor as Mahogany (the music shop).

Quite small, but the selection's good (in my opinion)

Is it online?
