Malaysian landowners closely connected to Sumatran fires
Many of the fires now raging in Sumatra are the result of land clearing practices by Malaysian landowners. I can confirm this, because my family has had dealings with the plantation sector over the years.
It is shocking to see educated and exposed Malaysians making use of loopholes in order to generate higher profits in Sumatra. They are willing to shortchange and victimize their own countrymen, as evidenced by this haze emergency.
So much for patriotism and simple dignity.
