Important Guidelines For The Haze Emergency

In the wake of the haze emergency, official guidelines have been issued. These are effective immediately:
A closure has been ordered of all government and private offices, and other work places including factories, plantations, construction sites and quarries. This does not apply to:
i) shops that sell food stuff, drinks, markets and supermarkets
ii) clinics, pharmacies and medicine shops
iii) essential services
In addition, earthwork and open burnings are now banned and subject to rigorous enforcement. Schools have been closed and citizens are urged to limit their use of private vehicles. You are strongly encouraged to remain at home and take the necessary precautions to safeguard your health.
Last, but not least, please pay attention to media reports. Regular updates of the air pollutant index will be forthcoming. An official curfew does not exist at this time, but please use your discreation when venturing outdoors.

Well, it seems that a great many who set the fires for land clearing in Sumatra are actually Malaysian plantation owners.
My dad is in that sector and confirms it.
