Don't Wait Until Its Too Late
Blogger Peter Tan's endless woes about his condominium management's ignorance never ends. I bet those staying in highrise building have lots to tell about ignorant managements and badly maintained amenities such as missing firehosts and leakage, two among many other problems.
Just a few days ago, little Thio Yee Shen drowned while swimming at her new home. Renovations of the Kelana Mahkota condominium are near to complete and residents are already moving in, yet there is still no lifeguard at the building's swimming pool. Little Yee Shen could have been saved if safety measures were taken. Why was the swimming pool in use before a lifeguard was hired?
Now that a precious life is lost, I seriously hope the people in authority would be more aware about their residents' safety. People don't pay monthly maintenance fees for nothing, and certainly won't spend quarter of a million to loose a life.
Hopefully, the works of upgrading walkways at Upper Penang Road by the Penang Municipal Council would lead to more awareness on public safety.
Comments
To set the record straight, the upgrading of Upper Penang Road was a project by the MPPP. The Society of Disabled Persons Penang was invited to audit the accessibilities.
