Comments

Would be great if somebody could come up with some buttons for Nominations and Voting. If you have some free time to contribute, pls email your creations to me at pps[at]petalingstreet.org

Something like:

"Nominate Me of Blog of the Year"

"Vote for me on PPS!"

Just a little something that people can plug onto their blogs. :)

Aizuddin Danian, I can donate 1-year web hosting for "Neophyte Blog of the Year" too.

I have a suggestion to keep things more organized. After the nomination period, the voting will be done like how CSS Reboot did theirs. There'll be screenshots that are linked also to the blogger's website in case anyone wants to visit. Below the screenshot are the vote buttons. :)

I assume it's 1 member per vote right..?

Cheers.

LCF: Thanks! Woohoo!!

Danny: Great idea! Will do.

"Any type of content, though content advocating or promoting activities that are illegal in Malaysian law will be disqualified."

I can only think of one blog. *cough*sixthseal*cough*

Nominations are coming along nicely... keep it coming, still got time to do your research and have a thought about which blogs receive those wonderful prizes!!

Especially, Ping of The Year -- a lot of great pings have hit PPS in the last 12 months.... come'on...

Great to know that PPS have awards too. Look forward to see whos the big winner =D Sure very suspense one

Kinda hard to remember all the pings that was on in the last 12 months... But I guess if it's significant, we will remember it :)

Just thinking it'd be fun if there were "Special mention" categories like "Joke boss", "thank god I don't live his life", "Ping addict" or "Most emo" :)

I mean, no need for any prizes just fun stuff for people who read the blogs on PPS but don't ping it and therefore don't have a username

Oh and one for the photo blogs.

wow! great to hear this! in fact, something like PPS Award is what I'm waiting for. at least, most of us know each other's blog, and thus it makes more sense in nomination and recognition. great!

ya ler...I've been thinking the whole day which one to vote for the Ping category. There are so many posts I can't pinpoint one.

Just a thought. Is it really wise to have the nominations and voting in the wiki? I'm sure even though there are a few pings every few minutes on PPS, not many are sitting in front of the pc the whole day and will go figure out how to use the wiki. So not everyone will be actually taking part ... I belum come up with an idea but shouldn't there be an easier way?

Voting will not be done on the wiki. Just nomination. If you don't know how to use the wiki, you can also email pps[at]petalingstreet.org.

Oh ok cool.. And thnx ;) but I figured out the wiki. Wasn't that hard after all. Cheers!

actually I write a short tutorial to nomination in the wiki page.

Hmm.. actually what lainie suggested would be fun. Maybe we should add a few more categories. Some of the photoblogs are nice. And there are some blogs that are mainly jokes and etc.

I considered the suggestions made much earlier for more categories... but i think for this first time around, its better to just start with a few first, to gauge the response, to manage the voting, the increase the prestige of each available award.

aiz, is the date for the gathering on 23 june confirmed? what about place and time? i need to know to make plans as i'm out of KL. thanks.

Aiz...I made some images for the Blog Awards...just messed around with some images ..boring day at work ;)I didn't know where to send it so I posted it up on my page in the wiki. If you like it, I can e-mail you the files (.psd format) so that you can alter it if you want. Cheers!

Lucia: Yes, the date is confirmed.

Tentatively, we will have a gathering on 23rd night, Thursday. It will be held in one of my fave restaurants in KL -- i've made special arrangements.

wil: Great work, pls email them to me!

er...hehe...what is ur email add?

Hahahaha... pps(at)petalingstreet.org

so you'll have to get our confirmation or do we have the entire restaurant to ourselves? :)

Jayelle: We'll more or less have it to ourselves, i believe. No need for RSVP or anything like that. Just come, order your food, get some drinks, relax, mingle, and at some point the birthday cake will make an appearance, award winners will be announced, and we'll eat some cake. :)

LOL... ok just sent it

if ya gonna have an award dinner, be sure to have cake and i'll come celebrate PPS as if coincidies with my birthday, woo hoo!

Aiz,
Is that place is accessible to wheelchairs and disabled friendly?

sounds lovely! *clasp hands together* hehe. can't wait! details details!! :)

Peter: It has a car park that is very convenient. I believe it shouldn't be too difficult to access. But i do recommend that you have someone with you who can help. If you don't, then no worries, call me, and i'll be there for you in a flash. :)

Aiz,
Will do. Much appreciated. Thanks.

aiz, i hope you will let us know the exact location soon as if i go to KL and need to stay in a hotel, i would want to book a hotel near the location (the restaurant where we are going to have the bash)

aizuddin dear, could you be more specific on the restaurant? i mean i'd love to go, but it being a malam jumaat and all, i need to convince, nay, persuade hubby to take me there. can he come to? or is it just for pps people?

Sorry, ok -- tentatively it will be held at Charlie's Place, Jalan Tangsi, off Jalan Parliament. Its just behind Bank Rakyat along Jalan Parliament, behind the Press Club.

I'm trying to negotiate some food for all of us, and once i've finalized that, i'll make an announcement.

Yup, all are invited! :)

Would a map be too much? *meek*

Prefably from the Federal Highway? Sorry.. :( Driving down to KL for the first time.
